Ashley A. Richards is an associate with the Gilbert Law Firm, P.S.. Ms. Richards’ practice areas include personal injury, wrongful death, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and social security disability appeals. Working as a paralegal in a plaintiff law firm prior to attending law school, Ms. Richards gained a unique and comprehensive experience base working with the injured.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2002, Ms. Richards has spent her entire legal career standing up for the rights of those who have experienced severe physical injury and disability. Experiencing her own health related challenges after being injured in a motor vehicle collision in 2013, Ms. Richards gained a depth of experience that is rarely found in plaintiff lawyers. Ms. Richards knows first hand the devastation that is felt when your doctor tells you, “maybe you should apply for disability.” Luckily for Ms. Richards, she located a specialist, and underwent several surgeries and months of rehabilitation. Ms. Richards has been able to continue practicing law bringing with her, a perspective that one only gains from having “lived” through the very challenges that her clients are experiencing.
Ms. Richards has extensive experience working with the severely disabled, and previously served on the state Executive Board of the Brain Injury Alliance of Washington (previously known as the Brain Injury Association of Washington “BIAWA” ). She is the Past President of the local Spokane Chapter for the BIAWA. Working with the severely injured and disabled is truly a passion for Ms. Richards and she strives to help them overcome the legal obstacles they face.
